Happy Super Moon, Daylight Savings and St. Patrick’s

Happy Super Moon, Daylight Savings and Saint Patrick’s Day to All,

Well another month has passed and thing are starting to wake up around here. The weather is in the upper 50’s which is perfect for our outdoor sports around here. If you hike or bike you have warmish days and no snow on the trails unless you are up around 10,000 feet, then you have snow.

Daylight savings starts this Sunday so don’t forget to turn your clocks forward before bed on Saturday!

There are plenty of events going on this month and ours is on Saint Patrick’s Day. Book a stay with us for that night (the 17th) and we will feed you a traditional Irish dinner of Corned Beef and Cabbage with Irish Soda Bread. We will even throw in some green beer if that’s what you like. Book now because space is limited.

This month on the 9th is our first of two super moons this year. Also, around the 21st, look to the South East sky to see a planet trio: Mars, Jupiter and Saturn and over to the West during the twilight hours is   Venus is our big bright evening star. How fun is that!

March 19th is the Spring Equinox which is commonly regarded as the instant of time when the plane of Earth’s equator passes through the center of the Sun. Fun fact here: Did you know that on the equinoxes you can balance a raw egg on its end. No joke, I’ve done this for several years to impress the kiddos.

April 18th is the Palisade Honey Bee Festival. Honey Bees are promoted through the arts, crafts, lectures, food preparation, demonstrations and distribution of published materials. The festival highlights the many beneficial products that derive from honeybees with plenty of samples. Yum.

We still have rooms available for the Barrel into Spring Wine Tasting Event April 25th and 26th. Tickets for the event are available through Grandvalleywine.com and the cost is $70 per ticket. Eight winery’s are on the event list and all are pairing the wines with food. We’ve have participated in the past and we highly recommend doing this at least once. Sorry, May’s event is sold out.

Until next month,

Annette & Trey
